Phosphorus II is an Archambault A13, the one and only A13 ever built. The owner, Mark Emerson, bought the boat in mid-2017. It was formerly known as Teasing Machine and sailed by a French crew, very successfully.
It is a boat designed to be competitive offshore while remaining relatively easy to sail. In 2018 we had a full RORC programme. Despite some setbacks we managed 3 class wins plus multiple podiums and were 2nd overall for the season in RORC IRC1.
The plan is to have a full programme of mostly offshore, mainly RORC, races in the 2019 season. A major highlight should be the Rolex Fastnet Race.
The previous Phosphorus was raced from 2011 to 2016. During that time we developed a solid core of regular crew who have sailed extensively with us in the UK and in the Mediterranean. Since acquiring the A13 we have added many new faces, some of whom are now regulars. But we are always looking for new squad members with the right attitude and aptitude.
